Onwave faced the heatwave to highlight OWL at Plantworx 2023

Alongside industry giants such as Caterpillar and JCB, the Onwave team gathered at the East of England Arena & Events Centre in Peterborough from 13-15th June to exhibit their innovative solutions.

About Plantworx

Plantworx is an event that combines the display of innovative technologies for construction including equipment, machinery, and software. With over 400 exhibitors participating in this three-day event, Plantworx is developed and supported in partnership with the Construction Equipment Association.

The Plantworx Innovation Awards

Kicking off the week, the Onwave team, consisting of Peter Fisher, Jade Le-Gray Wise, Leanne Fisher, and Sarah Moran, attended the Plantworx Innovation Awards ceremony on June 12th.

The ceremony saw a gathering of over 250 attendees from across the construction industry. The team was delighted when Onwave – OWL received a highly commended recognition in the safety category. The safety award is sponsored by Caterpillar and is awarded to the device or system that offers the greatest enhancement to the safety of construction workers, including personal protective equipment, electronic systems, or physical devices.

“I am thrilled that OWL has been recognized as an essential tool to enhance the safety of those in construction. We are already collaborating with several large contractors to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their people. I anticipate a future where wearable geofencing tools like OWL become as vital as personal protective equipment on construction sites, elevating safety and the visibility of workers in hazardous environments.”

Jay Moorehouse – COO at Onwave

About OWL

OWL, the flagship SaaS product developed by Onwave, provides wearable devices and apps that notify workers when they enter geofenced areas. The accuracy of OWL’s wearable devices is within a range of under 10mm, making them ideal for various scenarios. These include creating safety zones around hazardous equipment while in operation, geofencing areas with buried services, establishing boundaries for land or specific work areas for teams, monitoring real-time locations of personnel, and ensuring the safety of lone workers through location sharing and real-time alerts.

By implementing the use of OWL wearable devices and software, companies can significantly enhance workplace safety and provide crucial real-time information, fostering a more secure and efficient construction environment.
